Southeast Missouri State has scheduled a news conference for 2:00 p.m. Thursday at which time the university says Athletic Director John Shafer will name a new head basketball coach.
Several names have been tossed around as possible candidates from Jay spoonhour to Rod Barnes.
But it appears that a couple of names have floated to the surface.
I have received several phone calls regarding former Arkansas State coach Dickey Nutt as a possible leading candidate.
Another named being tossed around as a possible front runner is former Saint Louis coach Brad Soderberg.
