This has to one of the busiest sports times of the year in the Heartland.
Were right in the heart of college football season, high school football is also heating up with Districts and the playoffs just around the corner, College basketball ready to tip off, softball playoffs well underway and the Soccer and volleyball post-season just about upon us.
So where do we start? How about the start of Missouri District play. For teams like Jackson that have struggled, this is the time to get hot and make the playoffs.
Speaking of hot, the unbeaten Sikeston Bulldogs look to keep it going against West Plains and I love the match up between Poplar Bluff and Farmington.
Also a couple of really good games in Southern Illinois with Anna-Jonesboro visiting Du Quoin and Carbondale hosting Marion.
The best match up of all looks like the game between #5 SIU at #2 Northern Iowa.
I just saw the SEMO basketball team practice under Dickey Nutt for the first time.
Eleven newcomers for the Redhawks so it should be a very interesting season.
And it's time for Maroon Madness at SIU ---Let the games begin!
See you tonight on Heartland Football Friday.
